PBS Renews Fantastic Drama Series GRANTCHESTER For a Fifth Season, and Has Already Gotten to Work

I was a little nervous about the current fourth season of the PBS crime drama series Grantchester, as just one episode in, we lost one of our main characters who drove the series, and was so loved. It’s a small cast, and the series has always hinged on the main two characters, played by James Norton and Robson Green, so to know Norton wouldn’t be on the show anymore, I had to wonder if it would work. Luckily, the supporting cast, and the new members including Tessa Peake-Jones, Al Weaver, and Tom Brittney have carried it into this new season of the series, and I’m happy to say it still works!

This series is so incredibly well-written and captivating. It has every ingredient to make a great dramatic, comedic, crime show, with characters we love so much. So I am happy to report we are getting another season after this one. This week on the PBS Masterpiece Facebook page, we got a photo of the guys at the read-through for the next season.
