PDP's Nintendo Switch WIRED FIGHT PAD PRO CONTROLLER Review

I still remember vividly those nights playing GameCube with friends from dusk till dawn. I remember a plethora of controllers and games, but most of them were just variant colors of the classic GameCube controller. Those things took on hundreds of hours of gameplay from teenagers who could care less about the abusive button smashing and constant accidental drops. But those controllers stayed strong and I don’t know if any other Nintendo controller has ever or will ever be as good.

The new Wired Fight Pad Pro Controller is in one word, amazing. It does the job of feeling just like the classic Gamecube controller, with a handful of slight changes that are almost all improvements. But the controller doesn’t just look and feel like a GameCube controller, it also feels and plays like a real $60 controller at a $25 price tag.

I received both the Pichu and Jigglypuff controllers, and they both play perfectly. The joysticks are fluid and tight, the buttons are crisp and springy and the triggers are big and easy to use. The colors are vibrant and the simple styles look great with the character on each of them. The cord is 10ft long, which is good enough for most setups.

The only complaint I have is that the L and R buttons (the smaller, top triggers) are thinner than others and may be difficult to use sometimes because of their slightly higher placement and size. But this is a minor issue, and for a $25 controller with so many other benefits, it is easy to look over this small inconvenience, especially because so many of the Switch games don’t even use or need those buttons.

Overall, this controller is a great replica, with some light improvements (and a minor flaw). I would highly recommend this to any Switch users, especially those who are fond of the GameCube days.
