PEACEMAKER Season 2 Features a Secret James Gunn Cameo You Probably Missed

Peacemaker is back with a vengeance, and the premiere of Season 2 wastes no time in setting the chaotic tone. Between a hilariously reimagined recap that swaps out the Justice League for the Justice Gang and a brand-new dance number, the show reminds us why fan enjoy the show’s bizarre brilliance in the first place.

But, tucked away in that shiny new opening sequence is a hidden treat for fans of Gunn. Turns out, the series creator and DC Studios co-head, makes a surprise appearance… sort of.

During a live watch party on Threads to celebrate the premiere, Gunn casually dropped a fun behind-the-scenes nugget: he did the motion capture for Eagly's dance moves in the new intro.

"I did mocap for Eagly," Gunn revealed.

Naturally, fans lost it. One follower replied, "Ngl you did a great job ahahaha," while another added, "And I bet you had the time of your life doing that lmao."

The reactions kept rolling in. "We need the raw James Gunn dancing footage," begged one user. Another chimed in with a bunch of crying emojis: "Why am I not surprised[?]"

In a previous interview, Gunn opened up about the pressure of creating a new opening dance that could live up to the first season's viral sensation.

"It was the only thing I was really nervous about. People say, 'How are you going to one-up the first season?' You can't one-up the first season because, truth is, people didn't know a dance scene was coming.

“You can never recapture that. I have to recapture that within the episodes themselves. And I think the way we capture that… is with the emotional depth of the season, and the romance and all of that."

Season 2 brings back the core cast, including John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Jennifer Holland. This time around, Chris Smith is being hunted by Rick Flag Sr., who's seeking revenge for the death of his son in The Suicide Squad.

So while you're busy soaking in the madness and mayhem of Peacemaker's return, just remember, Eagly's got moves, and they're straight from the mind (and body) of James Gunn.
