PEAKY BLINDERS Says They Are Setting Up Spinoff Shows with The Movie

So, it seems like the end of BBC’s Peaky Blinders series isn’t really going to be the end after all. It was recently announced that the show would come to an end after its sixth season. It was then revealed that the story would continue with a movie. Now, the creator of the series, Steven Knight, says the film will be used to set up a series of spinoff shows!

While speaking with Variety, Knight revealed his plans to extend the franchise beyond the Peaky Blinders film and how the movie will end up setting up some different stories that will serve as the launching point for the spinoff shows. When talking about the movie, Knight explains:

"We are in development. It’s a fully formed idea and it has a beginning, middle and end. And I think it’s going to be a fitting conclusion to the story told so far, but from it, there will be things I don’t really call spinoffs, but there will be other TV shows that I hope will come out of [it], that will continue to tell the story of this part of society and this family."

Well, this is great news! I was pretty bummed out when I heard that Peaky Blinders was coming to an end after its upcoming season, but with the film and the other shows coming, it’s not really ending at all! I’m looking forward to seeing what these other stories will tell that will be set in this world.
