Disney brought the Olympian energy to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, confirming that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on December 10, 2025. Fans at the panel got a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Sea of Monsters adventure, plus some big casting updates that stretch beyond Season 2.

If you’re a fan of the series, the new Season 2 teaser delivers the good. The footage with demigods preparing for an “inevitable” war. Dior Goodjohn’s Clarisse makes an intimidating entrance, climbing out of a boat with pure warrior energy, while Charlie Bushnell’s Luke sharpens his betrayal game, wielding a vicious-looking knife.

“Brace yourself, Perseus,” warns Poseidon as things heat up. When Annabeth asks Percy if he’s ready to dive into the Sea of Monsters, his response is pure hero mode: “Let’s go do the impossible.”

Fans also got a first look at Daniel Diemer’s Tyson protecting Percy from a flaming attack, revealing his cyclops transformation in all its glory. The Gray Sisters even pop in for some comic relief, teasing Annabeth about Percy being her “boyfriend.”

Season 2 adapts The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Rick Riordan’s fantasy adventure series. Percy’s quest this time is to find the Golden Fleece to restore Camp Half-Blood’s failing barrier and stop Kronos’ forces.

Disney+ describes the season as follows: “After Camp Half-Blood’s protective border is breached, Percy Jackson embarks on an epic odyssey into the Sea of Monsters in search of his best friend Grover and the one thing that may save the camp — the Golden Fleece.

“With help from Annabeth, Clarisse and his newfound cyclops half-brother Tyson, Percy’s survival is crucial in the fight to stop Luke, the Titan Kronos, and their impending plan to bring down Camp Half-Blood — and ultimately, Olympus.”

Executive producer Craig Silverstein said: “So, Percy has to set out to set things right, and that means a quest to find the Golden Fleece, which is a legendary artifact that can heal anything or anyone, and he needs to use it to restore the protective barrier that surrounds Camp Half-Blood. So Season 2 is about Percy trying to hold all of his life together as it’s breaking and changing. And that’s your typical middle school experience.”

Executive producer Dan Shotz hyped the scale of the new season, promising it’s bigger and bolder: “Season 2 is epic. It is so huge, what we were able to build. We are on the Sea of Monsters adventure.

“So, we are out at sea. We are on 175-foot ironclad ship. We are on cruise ships. We are in chariot races. We are fighting incredible monsters. It is so massive and we cannot wait for you guys to see.”

Fans also got a hilarious preview of Aryan Simhadri in Grover’s infamous wedding dress, straight from the book.

Alongside the teaser, Riordan dropped the news that Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie will join Percy Jackson and the Olympians in Season 3 as Nico and Bianca di Angelo, the mysterious children of Hades.

Season 3 will adapt The Titan’s Curse and is set to begin production soon.

For Season 2, returning stars include Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover), Charlie Bushnell (Luke), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse), and Daniel Diemer (Tyson). Tamara Smart joins as Thalia Grace, with Jason Mantzoukas returning as Dionysus, and Timothy Simons stepping in as Tantalus. Lin-Manuel Miranda is back as Hermes, and Courtney B.
