Pete Davidson and O’Shea Jackson Jr. to Star AMERICAN SOLE Which Is Set in the World of After-Market Sneakers

STX Films is teaming up with producers Kevin Hart and NBA All-Star Chris Paul for a new film titled America Sole, which is set in the world of after-market sneakers. Saturday Night Live‘s Pete Davidson and Straight Outta Compton‘s O’Shea Jackson Jr. are set to star in the film. The film will be written and directed by How To Make It In America creator Ian Edelman.

The movie is described as “a high-stakes, high-top dramatic comedy set in the world of after-market sneakers, one of the fastest-growing areas of in-demand streetwear.” The story follows “two twentysomethings with mountains of college debt who use the fast cash of after-market sneaker reselling to achieve their American dream. But when their startup runs out of cash and a shady investor is their only way out, the dream quickly becomes a nightmare.”

Chris Paul talked about the film saying:

“American Sole is a story about the highly exciting, very profitable sneaker industry and the secondary sneaker market. With my own personal passion for sneakers and the culture that drives it, I’m excited to be a part of telling this entertaining story.”

For those of you who don’t know, the sneaker resale market is one of the fastest-growing segments of the fashion industry. Jeff Goldblum even covered it in his Disney+ series, giving us a look inside of how it works. The market has reached $2 billion, and that number is expected to triple by 2025. It’s crazy to see how much people will spend on some of these limited-run sneakers!

I have some knowledge of the sneaker world, but I’m not going to drop $50,000 on a pair of shoes! I’m definitely interested enough in it, though, to watch this movie. America Sole has potential to be a solidly entertaining flick.
