Peter Dinklage and Gillian Anderson Reportedly Eyed for DEXTER: RESURRECTION Sequel Series
The 8-season Showtime run of Dexter was one of the greatest series in the 2000s. While it had a huge fanbase throughout its run, fans were ready to see it go, and its finale had a lackluster response from the viewership.
The title character returned years later in Dexter: New Blood, a ten episode limited series that ended in Dexter’s demise at the hands of his grown son. This felt like the final chapter had closed on the scrupulous serial killer, but it turns out, that’s not so.
Aside from the Dexter prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, which is arriving in December, Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan will live on in a new series titled Dexter: Resurrection.
The show’s logline is being kept under wraps, and aside from Hall’s return, we haven’t heard much yet. It is assumed that they’ll explain how he survived the seemingly-fatal gun shot wound to the chest.
Now we have heard that insider Jeff Sneider gave the tip that two major stars are in talks to join Dexter: Resurrection. The report says that the show’s creators are looking to cast Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, Wicked) and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, Sex Education) in the series, though their potential roles have not been revealed. The rumor claims that both actors are currently in negotiations to join the project. This is still just a rumor, so we will just have to wait and see.
The series is scheduled to begin shooting in January 2025 with a premiere tentatively slated for Summer 2025, meaning we should start to get some more concrete details on the project pretty soon.
