Peter Jackson Releases a Beautiful Piece of Concept Art For MORTAL ENGINES

Peter Jackson has released a stunning piece of concept art for his upcoming film project Mortal Engines. It gives us a little taste of what this movie will look like visually and it's pretty cool! I love the epicness of it.

The film is based on Philip Reeve’s steampunk YA book saga and the story is set in a world thousands of years in the future, "Earth’s cities now roam the globe on huge wheels, devouring each other in a struggle over diminishing resources. On one of these massive Traction Cities, Tom Natsworthy has an unexpected encounter with a mysterious young woman from the Outlands, who will change the course of his life forever."

This is going to be quite the adventurous fantasy film! The cast for the fantasy epic also features a great cast that includes Hugo Weaving (The Lord of Rings), Robbie Sheehan (Geostorm), Ronan Raftery (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Hera Hilmar (Da Vinci’s Demons), Stephen Lang (Avatar), South Korean singer and actress Jihae (Mars), Leila George (Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?), Colin Salmon (Limitless), Patrick Malahide (Game of Thrones) and Rege-Jean Page (Roots).

Jackson and Fran Walsh picked up the rights to the book several years ago and they've written the screenplay for it. The film will be directed by Christian Rivers, who worked with Jackson as a storyboard artist over the past two decades. He's also worked on visual effects and as a Splinter Unit Director on The Hobbit trilogy, and won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects for his work on King Kong.

This is his first time directing a feature film and it looks like it's going to be insanely ambitious! I'm excited to see more from the film!
