PETER RABBIT is Officially Getting a Sequel
You know that Peter Rabbit film from Sony Pictures that was recently released in theaters? Well, the studio has announced that it will be getting a sequel. The movie pulled in a solid $325 million worldwide, which was enough for the studio to want to greenlight a sequel.
According to THR, director Will Gluck will return to helm the film and I imagine the cast will return. That cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, James Corden, Margot Robbie, Daisy Ridley, Rose Byrne and more.
The first movie was ok. The kids really enjoyed and I guess that's what really matters when it comes to movies like this. The films are based on Beatrix Potter's classic story of a rebellious rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer's vegetable garden. This is the synopsis that was released for the first film:
Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor (Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door.
I imagine the sequel will be more of the same, but we'll have to wait and see. Peter Rabbit 2 will be released on February 7, 2020.
