Peter Sarsgaard and Jayme Lawson's Characters Revealed in THE BATMAN

Director Matt Reeves is currently in the process of shooting The Batman and some new details have come to light regarding the characters being played by Peter Sarsgaard and Jayme Lawson.

Both of their characters were created specifically for this film and do not come from the DC universe. Sarsgaard is taking on the role of a character named Gil Colson, who is a Gotham City District Attorney. Lawson will be playing a character named Bella Reál, who is described as a "mayoral candidate." Some fans are speculating this name could be an alias for a bigger reveal, but we’ll have to wait and see.

The movie also stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Zoe Kravitz will play Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano will play the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis is set to play Alfred, and John Turturro has been cast in the role of Carmine Falcone.

There is so much we don’t know about the movie, but we do know that The Batman will be a noir-style film that will lean into Batman in his detective mode. When previously talking about the film, Reeves said:

“It's very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films. The comics have a history of that.”

The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25th, 2021, and I can’t wait to see it!
