Phil Lord and Chris Miller in Talks to Direct GHOSTBUSTERS 3

It was recently announced that director Ivan Reitman will no longer be directing Ghostbusters 3. It seems that he and Sony Pictures have started the hunt for a new director to take his place. It was really hard to imagine seeing anyone take his place. That is until we learned that Phil Lord and Chris Miller are in talks to develop the film! These are the two guys that brought us, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, and most recently The LEGO Movie. 

The fact that these two directors could be involved might actually make me change my mind and attitude toward this movie. When Reitman dropped out of the film it was the final straw for me; I didn't want to see this movie happen at all. With Lord and Miller bringing the movie to life though, it could actually be pretty damn awesome. These guys are simply great at what they do, their movies are really well made and hilarious. I really don't want to be excited for Ghostbusters 3, but with the possibility of Lord and Miller coming on to direct it, it's hard not to be.
