Pierce Brosnan Joins the Cast of Sony's CINDERELLA Starring Camila Cabello

Pierce Brosnan (Tomorrow Never Dies, Mrs. Doubtfire, Mamma Mia!) has joined the cast of Sony’s musical retelling of the classic tale of Cinderella. He joins singer Camila Cabello as the star of the show, with Idina Menzel (Wicked, Frozen) playing the wicked stepmother and Billy Porter (Pose) playing the fairy godmother. The film is being written and directed by Kay Cannon, who wrote many episodes of 30 Rock and penned the three Pitch Perfect film scripts. She also directed the film Blockers.

British actor Nicholas Galitzine will play Prince Robert, and Brosnan will play his father, the king. THR reports that James Corden is producing the film and is also credited with the original idea for the film, which “reimagines the traditional Cinderella story in which our heroine is an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow.”

I feel like we get new Cinderella movies more often that any other fairy tale. This sounds like a pretty good one, though. Will you be checking it out? Cinderella hits theaters on February 5, 2021.
