PIG Director Michael Sarnoski Will Write and Direct a Film Adaptation of SABRINA
The director of Nicholas Cage’s Pig, Michael Sarnoski, is set to write and direct the feature film adaptation of Sabrina, which will be based on Nick Drnaso’s graphic novel of the same name.
Pig was a freakin’ phenomenal movie, and it features one of the best performances of Cage’s career. Sarnosky has proved he’s a solid filmmaker, and I’ve been curious about what kinds of films he would make after that. He’s currently developing the A Quite Place spinoff for Paramount Pictures, and Sabrina will go into development when he’s finished with that.
The story for Sabrina follows “a grieving man whose girlfriend goes missing, who goes to live with his old friend – an Air Force surveillance expert agent who is dealing with a failed marriage. After a grisly videotape is anonymously sent to news outlets, Sabrina’s disappearance goes viral. As the 24-hour news cycle and social media take hold of the story, the two men are targeted by vitriolic conspiracy theorists that threaten their sense of the truth and their faith in each other.”
That sounds like it’ll be quite an intense thriller, and it seems like a great story for the filmmaker to tackle. I’m sure he’ll end up making a great movie, and I’m curious to see who he ends up casting in it. I’m sure a lot of actors out there are wanting to work with him.
