Pinocchio Won't Stop Telling Lies in New Clip From Disney's Upcoming Film
Disney+ has released a clip from director Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming remake of Pinocchio, titled “Quit Telling Those Whoppers.” The clip features a scene where Jiminy Cricket is talking to the wooden boy while trapped in his cage. During that conversation, Pinocchio just can’t stop telling lies.
This movie looks almost like a shot-for-shot remake of the original film, but with updated CGI technology mixed with live-action. I love the original animated movie, and this remake just isn’t going to be as good. But, I’ll watch it.
The movie is a “retelling of the beloved tale of a wooden puppet who embarks on a thrilling adventure to become a real boy. Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the wood carver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Ainsworth) as if he were his own son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his "conscience"; Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is "Honest" John; Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans is The Coachman. Also in the cast are Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana and Jaquita Ta’Le as her marionette Sabina, Giuseppe Battiston as Stromboli and Lewin Lloyd as Lampwick.
The film is set to premiere on Disney+ Day September 8th. Check out the clip below and tell us what you think!
