PLAYDATE Orders Delayed Until 2022

Panic has announced that its first batch of Playdates meant to ship in 2021 has been pushed back to early 2022. This is due to a battery issue that was caught late in the process, so every single Playdate in production has needed its battery changed.

Due to the enormous amount of time and effort this will take, the new goal is to have them arrive in February. They have also announced that future manufactured Playdates will have new CPU chips and re-designed boards.

This won’t change anything to the end product, but is a needed change due to the ongoing worldwide chip shortage. When you do finally get your Playdate, Playdate Season One begins when you set up your Playdate for the first time. You’ll get two games immediately, then every Monday you’ll get two brand new games, for three months.
