Playful Featurette For Tim Burton's Addams Family Series WEDNESDAY Explores The Story and Character
Tim Burton’s upcoming Netflix series Wednesday looks like it’s going to be incredibly fun, mischievously playful, and entertaining. Jenna Ortega is perfect in the role of Wednesday, and I’m excited to experience the story that this series is going to tell.
Netflix has released a new featurette for the series that takes an in-depth look at the story and the Addams Family character that it centers around. It features interviews with Burton and Ortega, and also offers up some enjoyable new footage.
This is a twisted coming of age comedy story about “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
The series also stars Luis Guzmán, who is playing Gomez Addams, and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role of Morticia Addams, as well as Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa and Moosa Mostafa.
The eight-episode series was written by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar, and it was directed by Burton. All three of them will also serve as showrunners on the series and executive producers. The series is set to premiere in fall 2022. Enjoy the trailer!
