PlayStation Productions Developing Film Adaptation of GRAVITY RUSH

PlayStation Productions has teamed up with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions to develop a feature film adaption of the hit 2012 action-adventure video game Gravity Rush. Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Second Born Royals, The Rookie, L.A.’s Finest, In the Dark, Runaways, Shameless, and Gossip Girl,) has been hired to direct the film from a script written by Emily Jerome (Panopticon).

The open-world PlayStation Vita game was developed by Japan Studio’s Project Siren. The lead character in the game is an amnesiac young woman named Kat who discovers that she can control gravity around herself. After awakening in the floating city of Heksville, Kat slowly masters her powers while uncovering the secrets of her past. She also faces fierce monsters called the Nevi.

PlayStation Productions is under the Sony Pictures banner, so it’s safe to assume that they will be distributing the picture.

I’ve never played this game, but it sounds like it could make for a pretty awesome movie with the right creative team.
