Plex On-Demand Service Offers Over a Thousand Movies to Watch for Free

Want to have access to over a thousand movies to watch for free? Well, there’s a new ad-supported video-on-demand service called Plex offering that to movie fans. Plex is described as a “build-your-own-Netflix software suite.”

This is a service that I’m not really that familiar with, but it caught my attention with this news. Apparently, Plex has been around for a while. According to Gizmodo, the software has a small core of passionate fans, and it allows users “to create, essentially, your own Netflix. You provide the content and Plex allows you to stream it over the web, and a myriad of devices, including all Apple products, Android devices, Roku devices, Amazon Fire devices, and even a variety of smart televisions from makers like Samsung and LG.”

It sounds like it could be a little complicated to set up, and it seems like a lot of work as you “have to create a central server on an always-on computer or network-attached storage device, and then you have to download the app to whatever devices you want to stream to and log in.”

But, this latest update to the service, which provides over a thousand movies for free, on-demand, is meant to entice people who would otherwise be put off by all that work and effort you’d have to put into setting it up. All those movies are already uploaded and ready to go and there’s nothing you need to do on your end except get the service and no subscription is necessary. You’ll just have to sit through a few ads while watching the movies! No server set up is necessary to access the free content.

To sign up for an account, down the app by clicking here. It looks like there’s a lot of great film content available to watch.
