Plot Details Revealed For Quentin Tarantino's Untitled 1969 Set Film

Quentin Tarantino's ninth feature film has officially landed at Sony Pictures. Up until this point, all we've known about the film is that it will be set in 1969 and that the Manson family murders will serve as a backdrop to the story.

Margot Robbie is wanted for the role of actress and Manson Family victim Sharon Tate, and Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio are also wanted to fill two lead roles. Thanks to Vanity Fair, we now have new details on the story and what the two lead male roles will entail.

Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino’s upcoming movie, according to a source who read the script, focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.

The script has also been compared to Pulp Fiction and it's said to have "heart and a strong commercial appeal." Sounds like it will be a great character piece and feature a setting that Tarantino is going to have a lot of fun with. As a fan, I'm excited to see what exactly Tarantino has planned. 

The movie will have a $100 million budget and it's set to start shooting in June for a 2019 release.
