PLURIBUS Teaser Offers a Glimpse Into Vince Gilligan’s Mysterious New Sci-Fi Series Starring Rhea Seehorn
Apple TV+ has released a teaser trailer for Pluribus, the upcoming sci-fi drama from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan.
After months of cryptic teasers that gave away practically nothing, this new 60-second preview finally offers fans a proper taste of what Gilligan’s first series since Better Call Saul might look like and it’s just as strange and intriguing as you’d hope.
At first glance, Pluribus feels like it could live in the same unsettling world as Severance. It’s described as a sci-fi drama set in a present-day Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the world has undergone an abrupt and unexplained transformation.
The only official description so far reads: “The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.” It looks like Gilligan is exploring something more psychological, more human, wrapped inside a lo-fi sci-fi premise.
The series stars Rhea Seehorn, reuniting her with Gilligan after her unforgettable run on Better Call Saul. She’s joined by Carlos Manuel Vesga, Karolina Wydra, Miriam Shor, and Samba Schutte.
While the teaser keeps things vague, it’s clear Seehorn’s character is at the heart of the mystery, and she might be the one tasked with “fixing” whatever bizarre shift has overtaken the world.
Gilligan serves as creator and showrunner on Pluribus, writing alongside Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Vera Blasi, Jenn Carroll, Jonny Gomez, and Ariel Levine. He also directs episodes along with Byron Howard.
For fans of Gilligan’s storytelling, Pluribus looks like it could be another slow-burn masterpiece. It’s mysterious, character-driven, and conceptually wild, which is exactly what you’d expect from him.
Pluribus premieres on Apple TV+ on November 7, 2025, kicking off a nine-episode run with new episodes streaming every Friday through December.
