Poignant Trailer for WOMEN IS LOSERS, an HBO Max Original Film with Simu Liu

HBO Max has released the trailer for a poignant new film titled Women is Losers, from writer and director Lissette Feliciano in her feature directorial debut. The story is based off Feliciano and her mother’s experiences as Latinas in America. The film stars Lorenza Izzo (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Penny Dreadful), Shang-Chi star Simu Liu, Bryan Craig (General Hospital), and Chrissie Fit (Pitch Perfect 2). Steven Bauer, Liza Weil, Cranston Johnson, Alessandra Torresani, Shalim Ortiz, and Lincoln Bonilla also star.

Here’s the synopsis from HBO:

Set in 1960s San Francisco, the plot centers on a once-promising Catholic schoolgirl (Izzo) who sets out to rise above the oppression of poverty and invest in a future for herself that sets new precedents for the time. The pic is inspired by real women and the Janis Joplin song of the same title.

Feliciano said of the project:
