POKEMON Fan Shows Off What 2.5D Remakes of the Games Could Look Like

The 3D pixel artist Dott shared a few videos a few months ago that have the Pokémon community excited. The videos show what a 2.5D version of classic Pokémon games could look like. The 2.5D style has become popular with games like Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy and honestly, it does work fairly well with Pokémon as well. Overall I like this presentation although the lighting is something that bothers me for some reason.

Sadly, I don’t think that fans can expect to play a 2.5D version of Pokémon anytime soon. I think that as more Pokémon games get remade we’ll probably follow more in the vein of the Let’s Go games or Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. That being said, maybe a remake of Pokémon Conquest could be in 2.5D? What do you think of Dott’s work?
