POKEMON GO Adding a Sleeping Feature and POKEMON SLEEP Will Track Your Sleep for Games

Pokémon Sleep is the project that took up the majority of time at this year’s Pokémon press conference. The new mobile game is being developed by Select Button and looks to be Pokémon Go, but instead of tracking where you go and how far you go, it tracks how long and how well you sleep. The idea is that The Pokémon Company wanted to make sleep entertaining. I do not know how to react to that idea. Anyway, in the game you’ll somehow progress by sleeping. They were very vague on the details but did say that it will be released sometime in 2020.

Sleep isn’t the only way that Pokémon wants to invade your sleep habits. Pokémon Go is also getting in on this idea of making sleep entertaining. In order to help them track your sleep, Niantic and Nintendo have teamed up to bring us the Pokémon Go Plus+. Remember that accessory for Pokémon Go that you didn’t buy? Meet its new brother. This time, it’s bigger, doesn’t fit on your wrist, but has all the same functions as well as the ability to track your sleep via the accelerometer. I’m sure the pricing will be ridiculous. There was no word on when to expect the device, nor the sleep functions in Pokémon Go, but we were informed that you’ll find Snorlax sleeping in Pokémon Go for a bit to celebrate.

One of the best parts during the reveal of these two new apps/features was reading the comments in the Twitch chat. People talking about how next we’ll have Pokémon Breathe and how they’re going for our dreams next. It does seem like they’re trying to take over our lives in a weird way.
