POKEMON UNITE Continues Celebration of 1st Anniversary with New Pokemon and More
Pokémon Unite is still celebrating its first anniversary with new additions. Recently, they changed the map for Ranked and Standard matches to the Theia Sky Ruins. Here, players will find the Regis along the top and bottom paths that are able to join your team temporarily, each with their own effect. In addition, Rayquaza appears in the center now at the 2-minute mark and grants a temporary shield to the team able to defeat it. Players with this shield have increased attack power, goal scoring speed, and their scoring attempts are unblockable. I really hope it’s not as bad as Zapdos.
In addition, Friday saw the launch of Mew as a new playable Pokémon which you can collect for free with the Mew’s Mural Challenge. On September 15, Dodrio will join the game and Scizor will be added on September 29. Some great choices and hopefully at least some of them are Speedsters.
New Pokémon and maps aren’t the only changes. Legacy Trainer Showdown is a new game mode that will be available from September 9-October 7. In this mode, you’ll be challenged by Leon, Cynthia, Korrina, Raihan, and Green. This could be interesting. There’s also the Invite-a-Friend Campaign running from September 15-October 7 where you can invite a friend to start playing the game and you’ll both get rewards like Holowear tickets, Energy Boost tickets, and more. The invited friend will get the Bonfire Style Holowear for Slowbro.
I recently started playing more Pokémon Unite and it’s a ton of fun. Do you play? Who’s your main?
