POKER FACE Gets Renewed for a Second Season at Peacock
Poker Face is a recent show from Rian Johnson that is available to watch on Peacock. It’s on my short list of shows to watch when I have a minute to actually pay attention to a show. It’s garnered positive reviews overall and the trailers look like a lot of fun. Recently, Peacock announced that Poker Face is getting a second season just ahead of its seventh episode. Here’s a quick synopsis for the first season:
Poker Face is a 10-episode mystery-of-the-week series following Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.
Susan Rovner of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming said the following regarding the second season:
Poker Face is one of those rare, undeniable shows that we all fell in love with from the start, but the critical acclaim and viewer response has been beyond our wildest dreams. Working alongside the creative genius of Rian Johnson, Natasha Lyonne and Ram Bergman, along with our partners at MRC and T-Street, has been a spectacular ride, and we can’t wait to hit the road for another season as we continue to build momentum across Peacock’s originals slate.
New episodes of Poker Face are launching weekly on Peacock through March 9. The series stars Natasha Lyonne (who also is an executive producer) and is created, written, directed, and executive produced by Johnson.
