Possible Flashback Scene Info Revealed for STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
All fans are wondering how the Skywalker saga will come to an end with the final film this December. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is sure to include the end of the story for Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, and all of our other favorite new characters. But will any of our older storylines and classic characters be revisited? According to a report from Making Star Wars, that may just happen. They classify this only as rumors from a trusted source at this point, but just to be safe-
One piece of news that was verified by the filmmakers of the upcoming film was that the role of Leia Organa would not be recast, but that production may use unseen footage to create an onscreen appearance. Making Star Wars noted that this appearance may be in the form of a flashback sequence.
In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we were able to see Leia as she appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope with the use of actress Ingvild Deila standing in to play the role, with her face digitally manipulated to resemble Carrie Fisher's. Rumors have popped up recently, saying that a similar technology could be used for The Rise of Skywalker, with Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd being used as the stand-in actress this time around.
Another rumor noted by the site is that Leia is not the only character to be making a comeback. Luke Skywalker and Han Solo are also said to be appearing. The sequence would take place after Return of the Jedi, and would explore the reason why Leia never pursued becoming a Jedi despite her gifts with the Force.
And while we know that Alden Ehrenreich played the young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, there is no word as of yet whether he will be back to play his in the upcoming film.
Which of these rumors are you excited about? What would you like to see happen in the film?
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters December 20th.
