Post Malone Reportedly Pays Over $2.6 Million for MAGIC: THE GATHERING's “The One Ring” Card

Musical artist Post Malone has purchased a one-of-a-kind Magic: The Gathering card known as “The One Ring,” which is obviously inspired by The Lord of the Rings. The 1 of 1 variant was valued at $2 million, and there are reports saying that Malone spent $2.6 million on the card, but the exact amount he paid has not been revealed.

This particular “The One Ring” card featured the Black Speech of Mordor on the card instead of a normal spoken language. The lucky finder of the card is Brook Trafton, who said:

"When I found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was Post Malone. I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously, it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life-changing. I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do."

Malone is definitely the guy that not only can afford to buy the card for that kind of money, but he’s also a true fan that will no doubt appreciate it. Malone has an extensive Magic card collection, he also appeared in a Secret Lair set, with each card featuring him in some way. Magic: The Gathering also released a set of Post Malone lands featuring cards with doodles by Malone in their otherwise empty rulebox.

This whole thing is pretty insane! I couldn’t even imagine paying that kind of money for any kind of collectible! But it seems like everyone is a winner in this situation.
