Poster Art For Marvel's ETERNALS Gives Us Our First Look at The Celestials!
Marvel Studios had some poster art at Comic-Con to give to the fans for their upcoming film Eternals. This poster art gives us our first awesome look at The Celestials! The poster was shared by its artist Thomas Polito on Twitter.
This movie follows a race of immortal aliens known at Eternals, who were sent to Earth years ago by the Celestials to protect humankind from the Deviants. Those Eternals are played by Angelina Jolie (Thena), Richard Madden (Icarus), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Lia McHugh (Sprite), and Don Lee (Gilgamesh).
When talking about the upcoming film at Comic-Con, director Chloé Zhao, explained, “It’s about this group of incredible immortals, but through their journey, we really get to explore what it means to be human and humanity on our time on this planet.”
The Celestials have made a couple of appearances in the MCU already. The first Guardians of the Galaxy film featured the severed head of a Celestial that was being used as the basis for a space city known as Knowhere. Then In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 the film’s villain, Ego, was also a Celestial.
Celestials were created by Jack Kirby and are Immensely powerful, huge, and some of the oldest entities in the Marvel universe.
Eternals is shooting in London, and the film set to hit theaters on November 6th, 2020. What do you think of our first look at the Celestials!?
