District 9 director Neill Blomkamp is currently working on his sci-fi film Chappie. The movie doesn't have a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, but that doesn't mean Sony Pictures isn't going to take the opportunity to market the hell out of it and kickstart the buzz! The movie stars Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver, Sharlto Copley, and Die Antwoord rap-rave duo Ninja and Yolandi Visser.
The story follows a boy who is kidnapped and then adopted by a loving family, who realize he’s a incredibly gifted and smart. There's a catch, though… he’s a robot. You can see the childlike attributes of the robot in the art you see here.
The movie is set for release on March 6th, 2015. I snapped the photos you see here in the elevator of the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego.
