POWER RANGERS: TOTAL ECLIPSE is a Fun Fan-Made Comic
I was sent a link to a free, fan-made Power Rangers comic the other day, so I figured I’d check it out. It’s an interesting read for sure as it has the Black Rangers from the series through Lost Galaxy team up including the Phantom Ranger and Magna Defender. Here’s the premise for the comic entitled Power Rangers: Total Eclipse.
Total Eclipse is written by Shawn Pryor with art by George Kambadais. You can pick up the comic for whatever price you want on this website and all proceeds go to RAICES and the Amazon Aid Foundation. Once you’ve read the comic, you can find my thoughts below.
Overall, Total Eclipse is a fun one-shot comic. It features a bunch of fan-favorite Rangers teaming up to take down a well-known villain with a twist. It was also fun to see Pryor bring in Curtis, Zack’s cousin. There’s really not much to hate here except for the fact that at the end they start to point to cool mysterious things that you know will never be explained.
The biggest shock to me was when Cassie from In Space was shown to be the leader of this team of Black Rangers. She was the Pink Ranger. What’s she doing here? Well, somehow, she ended up with the powers of the Phantom Ranger (one of the mysteries that never gets explained). This is a cool concept, especially with the relationship that she and the Phantom Ranger had, but it feels really out of left field.
