PREDATORS Screenwriter to Write DEUS EX Film

CBS Films has hired Predators screenwriter Michael Finch to write the screenplay for their big screen adaptation of the hit cyberpunk video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The first script was written by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill. Derrickson was supposed to direct the movie as well, but dropped out after Marvel hired him to direct Doctor Strange

Square Enix introduced the game in 2000, and the story is set in the near future, when dramatic advances in human augmentation have triggered a technological renaissance. The protagonist, an ex-SWAT security specialist named Adam Jensen, must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy.

Predators was an ok film with a mediocre script, but maybe Finch will be the right fit for this. The video game has a great story concept, and it has a lot of potential to make a very cool movie. I wonder who they'll bring in to replace Derrickson.
