President Snow Loses His Head in New THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2 Poster
Earlier this morning, a new poster was revealed for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 on the film's official Twitter account. In it, a white statue of Donald Sutherland's President Snow has been beheaded and Katniss Everdeen's Mockingjay logo has been spray-painted in a searing red color. Check it out:
Toppling statues of tyrannical leaders is a common practice in revolutions, and it seems like the people of Panem are finally fed up with Snow's rule. I was extremely disappointed with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, and I found it to be a stagnant entry into the franchise that spent nearly its whole run time setting the stage for revolt while mostly failing to give us worthwhile action or revealing character moments. Splitting the final story into two movies felt like a textbook cash grab to me, and I know I might not be in the majority opinion on this, but I'm happy that this will be the last movie in this franchise...for now, anyway.
Mockingjay - Part 2 arrives in theaters on November 20th.
With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
