Prime Video Drops Hilarious SUPERNATURAL Cut of THE BOYS Season 5 Reunion
Fans of The Boys got a wild bonus treat this week, and if you’re a fan of Supernatural, this one hits on a whole different level.
The Season 5 already delivered a long-awaited reunion between Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins, but now Prime Video has taken things further by releasing an alternate “Supernatural cut” of that scene, and it’s pretty damn funny.
The original episode gave us a chaotic clash involving Soldier Boy, Mister Marathon, and Malchemical as they tried to deal with Homelander. It flipped expectations when Ackles’ Soldier Boy turned against the others. But this newly released version reimagines the whole moment as if Dean, Sam, and Castiel themselves showed up instead.
It starts off familiar, but quickly veers into full-on Supernatural territory. Instead of the original takedown, Collins’ character knocks Homelander out using Castiel’s signature angel tap, which amusingly sets up the scene.
From there, things get even more ridiculous ad Sam and Castiel try to convince Dean to take out Homelander, leaning into references longtime fans will instantly recognize.
Sam warns that the Democratic Church of America is “taking Chuck’s name in vain,” while Castiel raises the stakes by worrying they’ll ban Busty Asian Beauties, one of Dean’s favorite shows.
Ackles slips right back into Dean’s mindset, playing him as relaxed and unsure about what to do next. At one point, he drops the line, “I feel like I should call Dad,” which lands perfectly, especially given Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s presence in The Boys universe.
Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a twist. Dean ultimately sides with Homelander, not out of logic, but because he likes that he’s patriotic, turning on Sam and Cas just like Soldier Boy did in the original version.
This alternate take is a fun and playful tribute to Supernatural and a reminder of how effortless the chemistry still is between Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins. Watching them fall back into these roles is a lot of fun.
