Prime Video’s GOD OF WAR Series Casts Four New Norse Gods Tied to Odin and Thor

Prime Video’s upcoming live-action adaptation of God of War is expanding its mythic family tree in a big way. The series has just added four key Norse characters who are directly connected to Odin and Thor, giving fans a clearer look at how deep the Asgardian drama is going to run.

Louis Cunningham has been cast as Modi, Ben Chapple as Magni, Island Austin as Thrud, and Evelyn Miller as Gna. If you’ve played the games, you already know these aren’t just background gods. These are major players with serious ties to the power structure of Asgard.

Cunningham steps into the role of Modi, the middle child of Thor and Sif. He’s described as having a "gentle disposition and an obsessive, almost insatiably curious mind," and he’s said to be one of the most thoughtful members of his family, often disappearing into puzzles and his own thoughts.

That’s an interesting contrast to the thunderous chaos typically associated with the House of Thor, and it could add some layered tension to the family dynamic.

Chapple will portray Magni, the eldest son of Thor and Sif. He’s described as being "handsome and adventurous," as well as an "excellent hunter and natural ladies' man." But there’s more going on beneath the surface.

Magni is also searching for something greater in his life, even as he remains fiercely protective of his younger brother Modi. That internal conflict between glory and responsibility feels like fertile ground for character drama.

Then there’s Thrud, played by Austin. As the youngest child of Thor and Sif, she’s described as "precocious, inquisitive, curious, and fearless, with a natural yearning for knowledge." She also happens to be one of Odin’s favorites.

The Allfather sees "seeds of greatness" in her, which immediately raises questions about what kind of future he might be grooming her for. In a world ruled by manipulation and prophecy, being singled out by Odin isn’t exactly comforting.

Rounding out the new additions is Miller as Gna, the leader of Odin’s Valkyries. In Norse mythology and the game lore, the Valkyries ride winged horses into battle, claiming the souls of fallen heroes and delivering them to Valhalla.

Gna is described as a "fierce warrior" who is "devoted to her duty with a loyalty to Odin that borders on fanatical," often to her own personal detriment. That kind of devotion could make her one of the most dangerous characters in the entire series.

These four actors join a cast led by Ryan Hurst as Kratos. He’s joined by Max Parker as Heimdall, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Callum Vinson as Atreus, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.

Prime Video hasn’t announced a premiere date for God of War yet, but with casting filling out Odin and Thor’s inner circle, the series is clearly building toward something epic. If the show captures even half the emotional weight and brutal intensity of the games, fans are in for something awesome.
