Princess Leia is Getting Her Own STAR WARS Manga

It has been announced that LINE will be making a manga that stars everyone’s favorite Disney princess, Leia. The digital manga will debut on May 4, 2018. How fitting that it’s Star Wars Day. It will be an adaptation of the young adult novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan that was written by Claudia Gray. LINE has told us what to expect in terms of story in their announcement:

On May 4, 2018 or “Star Wars Day” as it is now known, LINE plan to release a free serialization of their new comic “STAR WARS / Leia.”

In this Manga, we will follow Leia who became part of the Alderaan royal family soon after birth in the last scene of the movie “Star Wars Episode 3 / Revenge of Sith” before encountering Luke and Han Solo in “Star Wars Episode 4 / A New Hope.” It is a story depicting the growth of Leia. How Leia became a Princess of Alderaan, became the youngest former Lieutenant, and follows a love story with an original character – Kier.

“LINE Manga” will comicize Star Wars comicalized works through the new label “LINE STAR WARS COMICS” and will continue to pursue various initiatives aiming for further development and revitalization of the Japanese cartoon market in the future I look forward to it.

Although it will first be available digitally, I would not be surprised to see printed copies available later this year. What other stories would you like to see turned into manga?
