Producer Shares How Involved Guillermo del Toro Is In PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING

After fans learned Guillermo del Toro wouldn't be in the director's chair for the much anticipated sequel for Pacific Rim, many began to wonder just how involved the acclaimed director was in the new project. Today, we get our answer from Coming Soon as an on-set visit with producer Cale Boyter revealed del Toro's involvement:

“He’s been involved from the different ideas, weighing in, the different drafts. We send him all the visuals and everything. He loves Boyega. Obviously, all the stuff he looked at he’s touched and noted. He hasn’t been here yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point he ends up here. Moves things around and I’ll be like ‘No, go back over there.’”

So, it sounds like del Toro is generally aware of the goings on of the film's production, although it's not like he's there day to day overseeing production. Do you think that's a good or bad thing for this film?
