Promo Teaser and Poster For The Queen Biopic BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
In anticipation of the full trailer that is supposed to be released for the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody tomorrow, 20th Century Fox has released a poster and promo teaser that you can watch below that offers our first real footage from the film.
The movie had a bit of a rocky road while it was in production. Director Bryan Singer was fired in the middle of production and replaced with Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle). The movie looks like it might have ended up being good, though. I already saw the full trailer at CinemaCon last month and I liked what I saw. I will say, it was a little weird seeing Rami Malek in the role of Freddy Mercury at first. He looks fine in the role, it's just such a very different look for the actor! You'll see what I mean when you watch the full trailer. The little sneak peek below only features a couple brief clips of him.
I think Malek is going to be great in the film and as a long time fan of this band, I'm excited about seeing how this movie turns out. Here's the synopsis.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music, and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that was always more like a family and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers, and music lovers to this day.
The other Queen band members will be played by Joe Mazzello, Ben Hardy, and Gwilym Lee. Mike Myers (Austin Powers, Waynes World) also stars.
Bohemian Rhapsody is set to premiere in theaters on November 2, 2018.
