Proof-of-Concept Trailer For a Dark and Creepy CASPER Horror Movie

I’ve got a proof-of-concept trailer here for you to watch today for a darker take on Casper, and in this version, he’s not quite the “friendly ghost” that we remember.

The trailer comes from filmmaker Jared Pelletier, who is getting this out to the studios in hopes that someone bites on the concept of a scary Casper movie. He describes this project as "a reimagining of Casper” and an “elevated horror film."

As you’ll see, the concept has the same kind of vibe that we see in the horror movies that A24 distributes. The trailer was cut together using stock footage, and Michael Chwastiak was the guy who performed the Casper voiceover and co-wrote the trailer with Pelletier.

Pretty good for only using stock footage! It certainly captures a creepy vibe. The question is… does the world need a nightmarish Casper movie? Would you watch it?
