PS VR2 Pre-Orders Go Live This Month with the Launch in Early 2023

Sony recently announced that PS VR2 (the VR hardware for the PlayStation 5) will release in 2023 and pre-orders are opening later this month. Players will don the headset and wield two grips that are designed to feel intuitive to use with the features everyone loves from the DualSense controller like the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. There’s also finger touch detection and analog buttons to really make it feel nice.

The headset has a ton of great features that gamers will enjoy. It has two 2000x2040 OLED displays allowing you to experience VR games using 4K HDR visuals with up to 120 fps. It also has a 110-degree field of view, a Fresnel lens, and a vent for airflow to reduce fogging. The PS VR2 headset also includes eye tracking, inside-out tracking that checks your movement and directions via 4 cameras to better reflect your in-game experience, subtle vibration feedback, Tempest 3D AudioTech, and more. Also, the PS VR2 connects to the PS5 with a single cable.

If you’ve been able to snag a PS5 and you want to do some VR gaming, it sounds like this is going to be an incredible experience. I haven’t been able to play a PS5, but I’ve heard the DualSense controller is absolutely killer with the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. It sounds like those features are incorporated here for the PS VR2 and so it should receive the same kinds of praise which is exciting for Sony I’m sure.

You can register to pre-order now with pre-orders kicking off on November 15 for $549.99. The PS VR2 will officially launch on February 22, 2023.
