Queen Latifah is Delivering Justice in New Trailer For THE EQUALIZER Series
We’ve got a full trailer to share with you today for CBS’s upcoming action series The Equalizer. Queen Latifah stars in the series as a woman named Robyn McCall, an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn.
McCall presents to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is The Equalizer — an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who's also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption. As Robyn aids the oppressed and exploited, her work garners the attention of shrewd NYPD Detective Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles), who doggedly seeks to uncover the identity of the vigilante known as The Equalizer.
It’s definitely interesting and different seeing Latifah in a role like this. It just doesn’t seem to fit her, after all, Latifah isn’t really known for these kinds of action roles. But she’s excited about the series, so I hope it works out for her. She said:
"This is one of the only jobs I've ever taken in my life where someone asked me the question one time, and I said 'yes' immediately."
The crime drama series comes from Andrew Marlow and Terri Miller, and it also stars Lorraine Toussaint, Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira, and Laya DeLeon Hayes.
