Quentin Tarantino is Developing a Film About the Manson Family Murders
It looks like Quentin Tarantino has started developing his next film project! According to THR, Tarantino's next film might revolve around the Manson Family murders and he is in talks with several A-list actors to join the project. Two of those actors are rumored to be Jennifer Lawrence and Brad Pitt, who previously worked with Tarantino on Inglourious Basterds.
The report says that "script details are fuzzy but one of the stories centers on Sharon Tate, the actress, and wife of director Roman Polanski who was murdered by Manson and his followers in 1969." Sharon Tate seems like a role that Lawrence could take on.
I'm sure most of you are already familiar with the Manson Family murders, but if not Charles Manson ordered a group of his followers to attack the inhabitants of a house in Los Angeles, believing it was owned by a record producer who earlier had rejected him. Four of Manson's followers ended up brutally murdering Tate, who was eight months pregnant. There were also four other people tragically killed at the house with Tate.
Manson and several of his followers were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1971 for the murders they committed over the summer of 1969. If Tarantino actually moves forward with this movie, it will be the first film of his that will be based on true events.
Tarantino is apparently putting the finishing touches on the script and he's prepping to direct. Harvey and Bob Weinstein, who have produced all of the previous Tarantino films, are also involved with this latest movie. They are all in the early stages of shopping the film to studios.
I'm actually that Tarantino is looking develop a film based on the Manson murders. He's one of my favorite filmmakers and I hope that he ends up making the film. I have no doubt that he'll give us an incredible film that will be absolutely brutal. After all, those are the kinds of films he makes!
