Quentin Tarantino Says The Script For His STAR TREK Film is Complete and That It Will Be Rated R
When it was announced that Quentin Tarantino would be directing an R-rated Star Trek film, it seemed like an April Fools Day joke. But it wasn’t, this movie is really happening and in a recent interview with Empire, Tarantino confirmed that a draft of the script has been completed.
“There’s a script that exists for it now, I need to weigh in on it, but haven’t been able to do that yet.”
That script was written by Mark L. Smith, who previously wrote The Revenant. At this point Tarantino needs to read it and give his notes and continue the process to getting it into production and onto the big screen. When it does make it there, it will have an R-rating.
I’ve seen rumors that Paramount was not going to allow the R-rating, but Tarantino once again confirmed, saying:
“Oh yeah! It’s an R-rated move. If I do it, it’ll be R-rated.”
It’ll be cool to see how this film turns out if it actually gets made. I hope it does because I just want to see what a Quentin Tarantino-directed Star Trek movie would be like!
