Quentin Tarantino Wants His Next Film To Be Like THE EXORCIST

Fresh off the heels of The Hateful 8, Quentin Tarantino is saying he would be interested in doing a horror film before he officially hangs it up. NME quotes the director as saying he plans to retire after his tenth film, and said he would be interested in doing something really gruesome and akin to The Exorcist...

“There is not a genre left where I have the same burning desire that I had to do a WWII movie (Inglourious Basterds) or a martial-arts movie (Kill Bill),” he said. “I think maybe the one genre left might be a 1930s gangster movie, that kind of John Dillinger thing. I’m also interested in doing something contemporary, where I can have a character who gets in a car, turns on the radio so I can have a cool driving montage. And if I had all the time in the world, I would love to make a really, really scary horror film, like The Exorcist.

I have no interest in seeing a Tarantino 1930's gangster film, and frankly feel like I could write that one in my head exactly how he would do it. The horror aspect really intrigues me though, as his films are already known for their expressions of violence. When I imagine the type of horror Tarantino is capable of, I think he would be really good at a movie where a serial killer is the main character. If I'm being realistic, however, and thinking of Tarantino's tastes and interests, I think his attempt would probably be something in the vein of a more artsy Eli Roth film.

Do you think the director has what it takes to make a legitimate horror?
