Quentin Tarantino's ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD Cast Grows with Burt Reynolds, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, and More
Quentin Tarantino has just added a bunch of new cast members to his upcoming film Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. According to Deadline, Burt Reynolds is set to play George Spahn, and Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Michael Madsen are in talks to take on a variety of smaller roles in the film. They will join the previously cast Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie.
Apparently, the role for Reynolds is a big deal. The report says that it might be one of "the best one the iconic Deliverance star has gotten since Boogie Nights." We also have a description of the character that he will be playing in the movie:
Spahn was an 80-year old near blind man who rented his LA ranch out to be used as the location for Westerns. Charlie Manson convinced Spahn to allow him and his followers to live on the ranch, in the months before they murdered Sharon Tate and six others. In exchange for rent, Manson coerced his female followers into hopping into bed with the ranch owner, and serving as his seeing eye guides, per reports.
Tarantino's new film has been described as a Pulp Fiction-like film that centers on characters around Los Angeles in the summer of 1969. The Manson Family murders serve as a backdrop to the story, which follows the two lead characters Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), a former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). "Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate."
There's no word on who Roth, Russell and Madsen will play but I'm sure they will have fun parts to play in the story.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be released on August 9th, 2019
