Quintessa Swindell Joins Dwayne Johnson in DC's BLACK ADAM as Cyclone

Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets) has joined the cast of Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming DC film project Black Adam. She will be taking on the role of the superhero Cyclone. The character is a member of the Justice Society and has the power to manipulate wind and sound.

She also joins the previously cast Aldis Hodge, who is set to play Hawkman, Noah Centineo, who will play Atom Smasher, and Sarah Shahi, who will “university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in Kahndaq.”

There are no story details to share, but when previously talking about it, Johnson explained that Black Adam isn't your typical DC Comics hero, saying:

"There are many variations and iterations of Black Adam that we have all fallen in love with over the years, and what I can promise you is a Black Adam that I feel in my heart is the right one to root our story in the beginning, this origin story. This is a character that will possess all the qualities that we have loved, regardless of what variation of Black Adam you've loved."

Johnson went on to describe the character as a "ruthless keeper of justice." He also said, "He is the judge, the jury, and the executioner, and he believes in an eye for an eye. He will always do everything he can to protect his people, more so protect his family."

Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) is directing Black Adam, the most recent script of which was written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Adam Sztykiel wrote the previous draft.

Black Adam will hit theaters on December 22, 2021.
