Quiver Distribution and Redbox Have Picked Up the Rights to Thriller BECKY Starring Kevin James, Lulu Wilson, and Joel McHale

Quiver Distribution and Redbox have picked up the rights to the upcoming thriller Becky, starring Kevin James (King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop), Lulu Wilson (The Haunting of Hill House), and Joel McHale (Community). The film is directed by Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott (Cooties, Bushwick) from a script by Nick Morris, Lane Skye, and Ruckus Skye.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

In the film, spunky and rebellious Becky (Wilson) is brought to a weekend getaway at a lake house by her father Jeff (McHale) in an effort to try to reconnect. The trip immediately takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick (James), suddenly invade the lake house.

Two things: Movies like this are the reason I don’t like houses in isolation, and I just don’t know if I can believe Kevin James as a villain. I literally watch King of Queens pretty much every day. It’s one of my favorite shows. So I just have the funny, ridiculous version of James in my head always. His films have followed that same recipe, so I have never imagined him as a bad guy. But I am interested in checking it out just to see.

Becky is set to be released On Digital and On Demand on June 5, 2020. Does it sound like a movie you might want to see?
