Rachel Brosnahan Wants Lois Lane to Fly in a SUPERMAN Sequel

James Gunn’s Superman has officially taken off, and with the film’s warm reception, fans (and cast members) are already dreaming about where this new DC Universe could go next.

David Corenswet has his eye on bringing Nightwing into the mix, hoping Clark Kent can offer some “uncle energy” to a younger hero. But for Rachel Brosnahan, it’s all about getting Lois Lane off the ground and flying.

In a fun Wired Q&A, the cast tackled 50 questions about Superman lore, including one that asked if Lois Lane ever gets powers. Turns out, yes, quite a few times, actually, and Brosnahan is more than ready to follow suit. Gunn chimed in with a revealing comment:

“I think about it every time I see her with powers, I’m like, ‘I know it. I know it’s Rachel’s.’ She was so happy to be cast as Lois Lane, and another part of her was like, ‘I want to be able to fly.’”

Brosnahan didn’t miss the opportunity to let fans know she’s absolutely on board with that idea. With a smile, she added:

“Tell James you want a sequel where Lois Lane flies.”

The idea isn’t without precedent. Lois has suited up as Superwoman more than once in the comics and right now, she’s doing exactly that in the current DC runs. Also, let’s not forget All-Star Superman, one of the film’s clear inspirations, where Lois temporarily gains powers and shares an unforgettable day with Clark in the sky.

Will Gunn follow through and give us a powered-up Lois in the sequel? We don’t know yet. But the request is has been made by Lois Lane herself.
