Rachel McAdams and Abby Ryder Fortson to Star in ARE YOU THERE, GOD? IT'S ME, MARGARET
Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Doctor Strange) and Abby Ryder Fortson (Ant-Man and the Wasp) have been cast in the upcoming feature adaptation of the classic Judy Blume novel, Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret. The film is being written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, who previously wrote and directed The Edge of Seventeen. She will also produce alongside Julie Ansell, Richard Sakai, Amy Brooks and Blume herself, as well as James L. Brooks' Gracie Films.
Fortson will play Margaret, an 11-year-old girl who consults God as she goes through the changes of puberty, friendship, and life. McAdams will play her mom. This is a story that has touched the lives of many girls growing up. I loved this book so much, and read it many times. I love the casting so far, and I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
