Rachel McAdams Offered TRUE DETECTIVE Role

HBO has offered Rachel McAdams the lead female role in their drama thriller True Detective, and I think it'd be smart of her to take it. If she does, she will join Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn, who she starred alongside in the comedy Wedding Crashers. There's one other lead role that needs to be filled as well, and that is expected to go to Taylor Kitsch

Justin Lin (Fast and Furious franchise) is set to direct the first two episodes of Season 2, which is set in California and revolves around three police officers and a career criminal who navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder. McAdams would play one of the three cops.

Creator Nic Pizzolatto has been hard at work writing the series, which is sure to be a huge hit. The first season was amazing, and I can only imagine that the second will be even better because of what was learned from making the first season.

McAdams has a busy year coming up with the untitled Cameron Crowe movie and the Jake Gyllenhaal boxing film Southpaw, both of which are being released next year. McAdams is a talented actress who has played a wide range of characters in her career, and a series like this could challenge her to do something new.
