Rachel Weisz Set to Star in Film Adaptation of SEANCE ON A WET AFTERNOON
Rachel Weisz is set star in and produce Legendary’s film adaptation of the 1961 suspense novel Seance on a Wet Afternoon. The film will be helmed by Tomas Alfredson, the director of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and Tony-winner Jack Thorne wrote the script for the film.
The novel was written by Mark McShane, and the story follows “a self-proclaimed psychic medium who convinces her husband to kidnap a child so she can help the police solve the crime and achieve renown for her abilities. When her true intentions come to light, however, her husband realizes the plan threatens to consume them both.”
The novel was previously adapted into a film back in 1964 with Richard Attenborough and Kim Stanley. That is a great adaptation, but I’m a big fan of Weisz and I think this is going to be a great project for her.
